Who Are We?
We live locally, raising our four children in the village of Skaneateles, and it's always been a dream to run a successful boutique motel. Before kids, we traveled around the world. We experienced amazing hospitality everywhere we went and visited so many communities that embraced us with warmth and curiosity. Now, we hope to create a similar experience for visitors to Skaneateles. Whether you are a regular, familiar with the area, or a first-time explorer, our vision is to help you make the most of your time with us and discover all the beauty of this area. Rich in natural wonders, good people, and memory-making moments, Skaneateles and The Gate await you at the eastern gateway to the Finger Lakes.
What to Know Before your Stay
Check-In/Check-Out
The Gate is a self check-in/check out motel. Shortly after you book you'll receive a confirmation email and two days prior to your arrival you'll receive a welcome email with all your self check-in instructions including door passcode, wifi etc. Check-in begins at 3:00pm and check-out is at 11:00am. At any point during this process you'd like recommendations on things to do, places to eat or just looking for a friend to chat with we're here for you.
Cancellation Policy
Plans change, it happens. At The Gate we provide a full refund to any cancellation two weeks prior to check-in. We provide a 50% refund to any cancellation made between 14-7 days of the reservation and anything within 7 days is nonrefundable.
Pets
We love 'em, you love 'em but there really isn't much for them to do at the Gate so it's best to leave them at home or with a friend. So we ask you to observe our no pet policy.
Don't Smoke 'em if ya got 'em
We have a no smoking policy (of any kind) at The Gate. Future guests will be staying in your room and we don't want it to become a thing, because who wants to deal with another thing anyway?
